Douceurs du MarocMoroccan pastry box: chebakia and almond briouates

270 MAD

Available

This gift set brings together two must-try Moroccan pastries: chebakia and almond briouate. Prepared using traditional methods, they showcase two very different expressions of Moroccan pastry-making expertise: one is delicately shaped, deep-fried and then coated in honey; the other is filled with almonds and wrapped in a thin, crispy pastry. A generous selection where textures, honey and almonds capture the flavours of Morocco.

Craftsmanship

The spirit of Morocco

In Morocco, pastries have long been a part of both major and minor occasions for sharing. They are served with tea, during family visits, at parties and during major celebrations, with recipes in which honey, almonds, sesame and spices play a special role.

The chebakia is distinguished by its intricate shape: the pastry is cut and then folded with precision before being deep-fried, dipped in honey and sprinkled with sesame seeds. It is particularly associated with the month of Ramadan, when it traditionally accompanies the breaking of the fast.

Almond briouate showcases a different kind of craftsmanship. An almond-based filling is wrapped in a thin sheet of pastry, usually folded into a triangle, before being baked or deep-fried and then finished with honey, depending on the recipe.

Brought together in this box set, they embody two techniques, two textures and a single tradition: that of the sweet treats prepared and shared in Morocco.
