Forgot to buy souvenirs? Last-minute gifts before your flight from Casablanca
By Souvenir Express team · Published 1 October 2026

Short answer: with a day left, go to the Habous quarter or order souvenirs for free delivery to your hotel within 24 hours. With only a few hours, use express delivery to your hotel reception, which arrives in under an hour. At Casablanca airport, shops after security sell Moroccan crafts, cosmetics and food, with a smaller choice.

How much time do you really have?
Work backwards from your flight. Casablanca Mohammed V airport asks passengers to arrive 3 hours before an international short or medium-haul flight, and 4 hours before a long-haul one. Add the drive from your hotel, and the time left for shopping is often shorter than it looks.
| Time before you leave the hotel | Best option | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| A full day or more | Habous quarter or the old medina | Souk prices, bargaining |
| This evening or tomorrow morning | Order online, pick the next delivery slot (7 a.m. or 7 p.m.) | Free delivery |
| One to three hours | Express delivery to your hotel reception, in under an hour | Express fee shown at checkout |
| Already at the airport | Shops after security | Airport prices, limited choice |
What can you buy at Casablanca airport?
After security, Mohammed V airport has duty free shops and stores selling Moroccan crafts, jewellery, leather goods, cosmetics, perfumes and local food products. It works for a box of pastries or a bottle of argan oil, less for a choice of ceramics. Expect less variety than in town and no bargaining.
The order of controls at departure is check-in, a first security check, passport control, then a second security check before the gate. Since 23 July 2026, automatic gates handle passport control for international passengers, which speeds up that step.
Which gifts can go in hand luggage?
- Liquids, gels and honey: 100 ml or less per container, all in one 1-litre clear bag. Casablanca airport refuses larger containers at security, even when they are partly empty.
- Liquids bought after security: duty free purchases in a sealed, tamper-evident bag are accepted.
- Ceramics and glass: keep them in hand luggage, wrapped in clothing; checked bags get thrown around.
- Tea, spices, pastries in a tin: no security limit. Check your arrival country's food rules: the UK and the EU allow up to 2 kg of honey, and the US asks you to declare all food.

How does express delivery to your hotel work?
1. Choose your gifts on souvenirexpress.ma. Every product page shows the price and what is in the box. 2. Pick express at checkout. If express is closed at that hour, the checkout says so and shows when it opens; otherwise pick the next standard slot. 3. Enter your hotel and room. The order goes to your hotel reception, which can also keep it if you are out. 4. Pay by card or cash on delivery. Our team confirms by phone or WhatsApp.
Orders arrive wrapped and ready to give; our boxed sets come in a dark green gift box with gold lettering. If something is wrong, returns are accepted for 14 days after delivery, with return shipping on us.

Which last-minute gifts pack best?
Small, light and hard to break wins when your bag is already full.
| Gift | Why it works at the last minute |
|---|---|
| Tea in a metal tin | Light, unbreakable, no liquid rule |
| Mini tagine | Fits in a jacket pocket; decorative only |
| Pastries or shortbread in a tin | Shareable when you land; the tin protects them |
| Honey sticks | Light; pack them with your liquids or in checked luggage |
| Painted plate | Flat, slides between clothes |
